Saving for a house, retirement or a new car today can be a sobering experience: Any investment that is safe generates hardly any return, and any investment that promises a decent return is associated with considerable risk. In his presentation, Oliver Wojahn will present the current status of different asset classes (stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.) and discuss the importance of asset allocation and diversification. It will be shown how Robo-advisors can assist in finding your best investment strategy.

In his newly published book; A Sense of Belonging, ‘Multiple Narratives of English speaking Arubans: Migration, Identification and Representation’ Dr Artwell Cain indicates that when one speaks of identification one is also speaking about (self) representation.

When addressing self in terms of identification we register the other. It transpires that more or less the same thing occurs when we try to determine what representation means to us.
Are we always comparing how the other is represented to how we are represented?

De Universiteit van Aruba (UA) is, samen met Hogeschool Windesheim (Zwolle) en Stenden (Assen), een onderzoeksproject gestart naar de circulaire economie dat deels in Nederland en deels op Aruba zal plaatsvinden. Er zal onderzoek gedaan worden naar de financiële uitdagingen van midden- en kleinbedrijven die willen investeren in duurzaamheid.

Recht en politiek zijn in een democratische rechtsstaat onlosmakelijk met elkaar verbonden. Soms gaat dat goed en werken ze samen. Andere keren vechten ze elkaar de tent uit. Het recht en de politiek verzoenen zich gelukkig altijd weer omdat zowel het recht als de politiek streven naar rechtvaardigheid. Rechtvaardigheid is het hoogste doel voor zowel de rechter als de politicus.
