Course objectives
The following course objectives are applicable:
- Provide the participants with a basic understanding of logistics
- Identify best practices of good receiving
- Identify best practices of goods put away
- Identify best practices for material handling
- Identify best practices for order picking
- Identify best pratices for packing and pricing
- Identify best practices for unitizing and shipping
Content
The "Operational Warehouse Logistics" course consists of the following topics:
General introduction logistics
- Providing the participants with a basic understanding of logistics and the role they play within the supply chain of Aruba.
Warehousing
Focus on general warehouse operations issues such as (but not limited to):
- Receiving (quality check and disbursing materials to store)
- Put away (placing goods as received in warehouse (handling, location verification and placement)
- Material handling
- Order picking (removing goods from the storage area to meet the demand of the customer)
- Packing and pricing
- Unitizing and shipping (checking order, shipping documents, accumulate orders and loading the trucks)
Target group
The course is valuable for any employee working in a warehouse/distribution centre.
Level
This course is for operational staff working in a warehouse.distribution centre.
Number of participants
The minimum number of participants is 12, the maximum number of participants is 20.
Assessment
A joint UA & STC certificate in "Operational Warehouse Logistics" will be issued upon successful completion of this course.
