Audit Student (Non-Degree Certificate Program)

Enrollment as an audit student with the purpose of attending education or part thereof in the bachelor, other than to prepare for a degree, is possible. At the request of the auditor, a statement will be handed out, containing a summary of the subjects followed, the period during which this took place, and, in case of a positive result, the subjects in which the student took part.

The test taken does not have the status of an examination nor can this status be acquired by the conversion of enrollment as an audit student into an enrollment as a student (see article 27 of the University of Aruba national ordinance). For admittance to the master programs, other rules apply which are determined per course.

The auditor pays the registration fee and tuition fee.

For more detailed information on the registration procedure, please contact the Office of student affairs.

Studying at the UA with an international degree

Applying at the UA with an international degree is possible, however, a diploma evaluation/authentication is required. This is a regular procedure for all applicants applying with an international degree, done by the Department of Education of Aruba (DEA).

This evaluation is necessary to determine whether the degree is equivalent to the minimum entry requirements. Take note that this evaluation will be used to assess the applicant’s application to the program of choice.

More information on diploma evaluation/authentication is available on the Department of Education of Aruba’s website.

To start the process of evaluation contact the Office of student affairs.

Additional Entry Requirements

There are programs that have additional entry requirement(s).

The TOEFL and/or SAT are additional tests for some programs with English as the language of instruction. Exemptions are possible depending on the program of choice.

For more information visit the study program page.

Deregistration

The withdrawal procedure is the responsibility of the Office of student affairs.

An official withdrawal is a complete withdrawal where a student has followed the appropriate procedures and ceased to attend all classes. The university recognizes that sometimes students have no alternative but to leave the school due to various legitimate reasons. In the case of official deregistration, this study duration does not continue, so that the student does not lose any study duration in the period that he is not able to continue his/her studies.

Withdrawal procedure:

  1. The Dean/academic counselor must be officially notified
  2. Exit interview with Dean/academic counselor
  3. Fill in the withdrawal form
  4. Bring the withdrawal form and student ID to the Office of student affairs
