As artificial intelligence continues to evolve and become an integral part of modern business operations, organizations face the dual challenge of leveraging its transformative potential while ensuring that its implementation aligns with ethical standards, regulatory obligations, and sound governance principles. This masterclass, facilitated by AXIOMA Corporate Services VBA, provides a comprehensive exploration of the intersection between AI, compliance, and risk management, combining conceptual understanding with practical, real-world applications.

Facilitators

Stephen R. Geerman is the Managing Director and Founder of AXIOMA Corporate Services VBA, a multidisciplinary firm active across the Dutch Caribbean specializing in compliance, risk management, assurance, and fintech services. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers Dutch Caribbean in 2011 within the Assurance department, where over eight years he played a key role in establishing the firm’s Risk Assurance Services practice and later served as Manager, leading multidisciplinary teams across Aruba, Curacao, and Sint Maarten. In 2018, he joined Stichting Algemeen Pensioenfonds Aruba (APFA) as Officer Risk Management, where he strengthened his expertise in internal control frameworks, enterprise risk management, and regulatory compliance, and aided in managing the risks related ot the local and international investments. Mr. Geerman holds a Bachelor of Economics degree in Accountancy from Arnhem Business School and a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Accountancy from Tilburg University. He is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). At AXIOMA he advises financial institutions, government bodies, and regulated professionals across the Dutch Caribbean on governance, compliance, data management, and technology-driven assurance. Mr. Geerman is also a regular speaker and panelist at regional and international events on topics such as artificial intelligence governance, data protection, and emerging regulatory frameworks.

Jean-Pierre Kelly is a Partner at AXIOMA Corporate Services VBA and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with more than a decade of professional experience in public accounting across the Dutch Caribbean and the Netherlands. During his tenure with a Big Four firm, he led and executed audits across a wide range of industries, including banking, insurance, hospitality, automotive, utilities, aviation, retail, and (semi-)governmental entities and foundations. Beyond financial statement audits, Mr. Kelly has extensive experience in forensic investigations, attestation engagements, and ‘rechtmatigheidscontroles’, providing assurance over both financial and operational processes. Following his public accounting career, Mr. Kelly served for over three years at the Central Bank of Aruba, where he held the positions of Risk and Compliance Manager and Financial Reporting and Control Manager, while also serving on the institution’s Investment and Risk Committees. In these capacities, he contributed to strengthening internal control and governance frameworks and supported the bank’s regulatory oversight initiatives. At AXIOMA, Mr. Kelly focuses on internal audit, enterprise risk management, and governance transformation engagements, emphasizing quality assurance and adherence to international professional standards. His professional practice aligns with the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct and the Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants issued by the International Ethics Standards Board of Accountants (IESBA).
