About our faculty

The ‘Financieel Economische Faculteit, (FEF)’ at the University of Aruba is an institute for higher education that offers acknowledged a bachelor program in Finance & Control. Our curriculum is updated with the latest trends and developments of both the Aruban business community as well as the international academic community. With a balanced mix of professional and academic teachers, we encourage our students to broaden their scoop, locally and internationally, and to explore and cultivate their passions and talents. Since 1997, more than 500 students have graduated from our faculty and have gained professional business skills and attitudes that easily meet labor market requirements. Our graduates have key positions in different segments of the market: accounting firms, banks, government and semi – government institutions and the private sector of Aruba. After finishing the FEF, our students enter the work field or continue studying in the Netherlands or in Aruba.

Academic programs

The FEF offers a dynamic four – year full-time   two major-minor bachelor program in Finance & Control and Marketing & Business . After a joint first year ‘propedeuse’, our students have the choice to pursue one of two the majors. The FEF focuses both on theoretical courses and practical assignments to ensure a solid knowledge base and professional framework. Our courses are taught in either Dutch or English and emphasize both the international orientation as well as the  focus of the Aruban business community. We also offer supporting classes to obtain a Post-Bachelor AA accountant degree.

International opportunities

FEF is a proud partner of the Erasmus+ Program. With many partnered institutes, students have the opportunity to study abroad and do a minor during their fourth year. There are also possibilities to do an internship or graduating assignment abroad with an Erasmus grant. For more information about the Erasmus grants, check out the Office of International Affairs.

Mission

The Faculty for Accounting, Finance and Marketing of the University of Aruba (FEF) is a recognized educational institute that offers acknowledged bachelor programs in applied sciences. Our curriculum is structured and updated with the latest trends and developments of both the Aruban business community as well as the international academic community. With a balanced mix of professional lecturers and academic lecturers, we aim to stimulate students to broaden their scope internationally and to explore and cultivate their passions and talents.

Quality Assurance

Accreditation is a quality label that is granted formally by an independent authority to an academic and professional program that meets required standards related to a Bachelor’s or Master’s level. Over the last four years, the UA has invited the NVAO (Nederlands Vlaamse Accreditatieorganisatie) to evaluate its programs against international Bachelor and Master degree standards.
