How can Circular Economy and other alternative, sustainable economic models like the Post Growth concept and Donut Economy thrive within an island context?

Serie of three webinars from January 2024 up to June 2024 about Circular Economy and other alternative sustainable economic models like the Post Growth economy and the Donut Economy and their implications for an island context. Dr. Matthias Olthaar will continue the series with a lecture in which the concept of sufficiency based circular economy will be the center piece, and connect this concept with principals of the Post Growth Economy.

Speaker:

Dr. Matthias Olthaar is applied sciences professor at NHL Stenden University. His research focuses on postgrowth economics, broad prosperity and sufficiency-driven business models. He obtained his PhD at the University of Groningen on the subject of the position of small-scale African farmers in global value chains. He is co-founder of ‘Postgroei Nederland’ and Just Enough, co-author of ‘Hoe handel ik eerlijk’, he contributed to the bestselling book ‘Er is leven na de groei’ (there is life after growth) and is member of the think tank. He speaks, advices, and gives trainings. In addition he is newspaper columnist.

Juan-Carlos Goilo is scheduled in June 2024 for the 3rd and final webinar that ACEF is organizing in this series and will be focusing on the Donut economy.
