Public Lecture Series: Labor security for the Aruban youth

While existing domestic studies have primarily focused on youth job opportunities, this policy paper goes beyond traditional metrics by assessing youth labor security in Aruba. Explicitly, it examines income protection, voice representation, and labor market security. Utilizing microdata from the Labor Force Survey, the Central Bank of Aruba’s Youth Labor Security Survey, and online scraping data for labor market tightness, this chapter evaluates these three dimensions relative to developing and developed economies. From these findings the policy paper presents key policy recommendations.

Symposium and Panel Discussion: Institutional development in support of prosperity and well-being

We are honored to invite you to a commemorative symposium marking the 40th Anniversary of Aruba’s Status Aparte. As we reflect on four decades of autonomy, we gather to explore a vital theme for our future:

“Institutional Development in Support of Prosperity and Well-being”

This evening serves as a continuation of the dialogue, focusing on how our institutions from the judiciary and law enforcement to healthcare and education have evolved from colonial structures into pillars of an independent Aruban identity. How has Aruba’s “Status Aparte” shaped the institutions that guard our health, safety, and knowledge?
